Okay, well I'll have to say, for me, scariest fake I've seen. Tom and I both thought this was good at first. After having Giel look at it questions were raised. Only after comparing it to one of Giels examples in hand was it questionable enough to be returned. I will post pictures if the stress cracks in the wreath commonly found on originals from the press. The eagle is pretty much perfect. The rivets seems okay as well. Slight differences in the block hinges, thickness and contour of the pins, as well as the catch on the two examples raised question. The pics are the best I could do with a phone. I'm sure Tom and Giel will add to this one after getting back home from here.

Look very close at the wreath. You will see the stress crack coming through to the obverse. Just up from the left wing.

Looks original to me but a few of the photos makes the gilding looked painted but I'm sure it's just the poor quality of the pics.Comment

Like I said guys, Tom, Giel, and I looked at this in hand for about thirty minutes together. With Giels example to compare. Does anyone have similar hardware out there to compare to?Comment
