    Another BSW pilot badge: opinions, please...

    Dear all,

    Hereby some pictures regarding a zinc-based, well worn and later-war LW pilots'-badge.....I deem it okay but just to make 100% sure and would like to hear your appreciated comments....

      Good late war zinc BSW but The eagle look gold refinished.

        The badge

        Dear Seb,

        Thanks for your kind reaction! I think that it is just the pictures that make the badge look a bit 'golden': it is really silver-coloured.....

              Nice original piece Mario.

              Eagle is not refinished, typical wear pattern of the thick original silver finish.

                So three types of catches on the BSW pilot badges: the "?" catch, the catch on a round base and the catch on a rectangular base?

                  My example with a round base plate went onto the WAF database last week and was considered fine. I think this one is too, though rather worn.

                    Salut Pierre,

                    The ? catch is only on Tombak example and round / square catch plate for zinc. Here the link for the DB concerning BSW type.
