    FLL pilot observer for review.

    Hello guys,

just added this pilot observer to my collection.
    FLL in tombak.
    Looking forward hearing some opinions.
Now searching for a good matching case. If anyone could help me i would be grateful. Would love to see some pictures of a matching case for this early badge.

    Regards

Hi thank you for the input Seb!
That's a lovely case. Is the inlay of the case dark blue? Or light blue, like the later FLL doppel cases?

Looks like a superb FLL PO to me! Early FLL eagles (in good condition) amongst nicest in IMO. Great wreath & eagle finish, no disfiguring wear to head & talon detail: a very worthy match for your Observer which is in equally great condition. Another great step forward towards a complete FLL family! I know there are also tombac FLL pilots to match yours, but not sure if tombac ROAG and para exist: all I have seen so far appear to be zink

I don't like the later FLL badges in zinc but the early examples have it all. The eagle is really outstanding, lovely detail of the feathers, claws and a mean looking face. And they keep their finish very well. I try to collect them all in early materials. I have never seen a ROAG or Para from FLL. I think they were never made right? Would love seeing those

FLL ROAG come in cupal wreath and alu eagle and the para come with nickel silver wreath and brass eagle. Here two examples from the upcoming WAF DB.

Excellent pieces mate! Looks like these have always been together. Just check how both pins are an exact match, they must have been from the same batch.

Prety expensive award back then that observer at 7RM!
                            Kind regards,
                            Giel

Very nice FLL PO badge. Several of us here fail to understand why so many collectors consider these early badges inferior. The detail is fantastic. Congratulations.
