    Osang luftwaffe clasps

    Hi All
I've been offered a bronze Recon clasp made by Osang. Unfortunatly i didn't have enough time to take a photo. The badge seems fine but the pin doesn't seem to correspond with the pins that i' ve seen on Osang clasps on the forum.
The pin is thin and wide very similar to FLL examples. Is it possible to have a pin like this on an Osang, or could it be suspect. I've never had a Luftwaffe clasp before so i'm a bit out of my comfort zone.
    Any advice appreciated

    Cheers
    Graham

    Graham,
Here's typical Osang hadware; I don't remember seeing different hardware on an Osang. Did you see any signs of re-soldering as a repair?

      Hi Graham,

Along with what Greg has said and shown, Osang is not a known maker of the Recon clasp so you are likely looking at a reproduction. But none of us have seen everything and its best to post pics of the clasp to see if it conforms to Osang production, or more likely, if it conforms to known reproductions.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Thanks for the help it's appreciated. I was weakening about buying the clasp, it's very good quality, with all the details crisp, it has a fluted pin, right pin catch etc. But if as Thomas says that Osang didn't make Recon clasps, then it must be a fake.
The guy who offered me the clasp told me where he bought it. It came from a site called HEARTS AND DAGGERS, it's hasn't been deleted off the site yet so i'd welcome peoples opinions.

        Cheers

That"s an instant NO, Osang clasps are pretty uniform in style and manufacture, if you look at previously posted good ones anything you are looking at that doesn't conform should be viewed with caution.

Thanks for the info everyone, suffice to say i won't be buying it. I've just had another look on the site, and their selling another one of the same type but a gold version for £650 which is a bit worrying.

Thanks for helping out with the pictures Leroy.

I can only agree with the others, a fake clasp. To be fair, some collectors like the "Round O" Osang mark, but IMO they are all postwar fakes.
