Ah, would anyone like to make comments about what is WRONG with the badge posted by me.
Maybe Eric Queen can help here. I would love to see what constitutes good and what proves a badge bad.

Have you visited the "hall of shame" as I suggested? There are all the answers to your questions.

Hi Frank, I disagree with always! Would like to say mostly a bad sign.

        ccj!

Your badge has some differences to known originals.

There is only one style of such marked 2nd army para badges proofed to be 100% original (and I know only 2 badges from that marked and proofed form, maybe there are some more...).

This "proofed style" is in some parts different to your badge. The hing, the gold finish, the maker mark and a special feature on the eagles back are the most important differences here.

          Dear Gerd,

          I said:

--it pretends to be a SECOND PATTERN aluminium badge. A maker mark on THESE is always a bad sign.

Can you show me a SECOND pattern aluminium badge with a Juncker maker mark that you think is original? This is not a rhetorical question, I want to learn here.
          Cheers, Frank

            Hi Frank!

            Here we go:

            1. Badge is shown in Erics book on top of page 149 (sorry, that pic is not mine)

            2. Badge (back view) see below

The hing is different and there is a feature visible on the back of the eagle, which you´ll see on both marked ones. That feature (workmanship) is not visible on the badges ccj has.

            -----------------

ccj badge is for sale by a bigger GB dealer, who wrote an article, that this style is original too (ok, he sells such pieces as original ).

But it looks like, that Eric has a different opinion here, because that style (ccj showed us) is in the famous hall of shame!

              Dear Gerd,

I have the book and should have remembered that! But it is the only known marked example of a second pattern aluminium heer para, right?
              Cheers, Frank

There are now 2!!! The one in Erics book and the one I hold in my hands (thanks to Eric for his advice) ...but maybe some others elsewhere.

I added something in my last answer, please take a look at.

I may be a bit slow. I am not seeing what you are saying/telling me.

How can there be no marked 2nd type until Eric finds one, then another show up soon after? I am not doubting Eric as he seems to be an expert. I just don't understand the difference and I need a private lesson of where to look. Maybe someone can e-mail be with these images marked up with arrows and circles noting what I am suppose to see or not see.

I read posts that say 'nice badge' or 'I wouln't have it' but I don't read anyone showing those who want to learn HOW. Is it because the repo artist will find out? Help...

                      If anybody is interested ??

Hello .. sorry for piggybacking on your thread about Para-Badges ..
But as a contrast I thought to load up a file of some of my WW2 Polish Para badges ..
The badge (Top Left) is my late fathers wing .. which has the "combat wreath" for being in action at Arnhem.

                      Regards

@ccj: do not get caught up with that maker´s mark thing too much, concentrate e.g. on reverse wreath shapes and outlines. I think you cannot miss the differences.
                          Cheers, Frank

                            Hi Gary,

I will make an exception because of the nice personal touch and connection to your father of your Polish wings, but this is the wrong forum.
                            Cheers, Frank

So, does anyone have an opinion on the Army Para Badge in the Mike Tucker book?
