My new Air to ground assault badge.

    Hi all:

I would like to present my latest acquisition, which is nothing but a Badge of ground assault.

I have no doubt about its originality, but as you can see, it is a particular instance, as the eagle, despite being made of Tombak, it retains its silver layer, which seems to have been removed by the original owner. Only traces of that silver retains in the right wing of the eagle.

I would like to know something more about this detail, as if it was some kind of constumbre do, even if contrary to all rules.

The Badge manufacturer is unknown, according to Sascha Weber's book, but I would like to hear more opinions, all are welcome, provided they contain any evidence or theory based.

Another highlight is that the eagle brilliantly engages the main body of the badge, which makes me think that perhaps the work undertaken by a jeweler or the like, but are only speculations mine, so I'm very interested in read yours, who are more skilled.

Now I show you pictures of the badge:

I also want to warn you that the images I have gone dark as the piece also retains traces of the original black paint.

    Opinions, please!

    Hello Tony,

I think it is a nice-lookiing badge. It looks to me like somebody polished the eagle and, in so doing, removed the silver finish.

    Best regards,
    Tom
