in the Patzwall book he is listed for the Goblet as a Flugzeugführer awarded on 17.08.1942.

Added to Scherzer's entry for the DKiG on 16.04.44 (assuming it is the same man) it looks like he was a pilot with IV./KG 30.

I cannot find an obvious match at the German War Graves site but there are a lot of Walter Brauns listed so it seems to be a fairly common name.
