    FLL Air Gunner Badge

I got this LW AG badge today. It's attributed to FLL by construction. It still has a lot of the finish on it. Let me know what you think!

    Hello,

in my opinion its an original late war zinc FLL with repaired catch.

Looks real with clear glue marks to hinge and hook from post war repair.

not glue, its varnish (or something of that nature) that has accumulated at those areas--btw typical fll catch and hinge

Even super glue would not hold a badge hinge and catch on....with human handling they would pop right off

TEXTBOOK FLL Airgunner. Hinge and catch are perfectly normal, and very typical to see this yellow/greenish color of the solder around them. You can find it on many FLL badges (PABs, GABs, IABs, etc.).

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                  Hey Tom,

I agree with you that nothing has been repaired on this badge. But I don't ever recall seeing this exact type of catch/catchplate on an FLL badge. It looks more like a Brehmer setup to me. Have you seen this type of catch & catchplate on an FLL before?

                  Best regards,
                  Tom

                    Hello,

I really like this badge. It is completely original, IMO, and is in great shape for a zincer. Wreath still retains a nice silver finish.

                    Best regards,
                    Tom

Sure Tom, here you go. Can find it quite often on FLL-marked PABs.

Typical Linden catch seen on many of their war badges.

                          Thanks Tom!

I should have remembered this as I have an FLL Panzer Badge like that in my collection. But I still don't ever recall seeing that catch/catchplate on an Air Gunner Badge.

                          Best regards,
                          Tom

                              Hi Tom,

Thanks for posting that one. That is a really nice example.

This example of mine has the more common catch/catchplate for an FLL.

                              Best regards,
                              Tom
