Looks OK to me, like Seb says its a Type A in the Para book. Too bad that the eagle has fallen off of it, that will reduce the vaule IMO.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

All the other JFS badges like the GAB, PAB etc look so great, so precise and detailed.....and then their Para ( especially the eagle) looks so...cheap. Kind of "disappointing", I would have expected a high end product from this maker.....

I agree, but looking at the examples in the para bible, this is how they are, like and ugly stepchild.

yea the vasaline prob makes it look worse, but doesnt it help keep it from oxidizing?

might just be me but i was always told to smear vasaline over zinc badge (if it had white spots) for 24hrs then wipe off please correct if wrong (woodworks easier than metal)

The idea is to coat it with vaseline for a couple of days to maybe a week and then wipe it clean. No need to keep it gooped on there although it doesn't hurt anything. It just makes it look like crap. Of course Tom may say different. haha

I'd personally like to see it cleaned up and photographed with the eagle off just to see aspects of construction that we normally don't see.
