Luftwaffe Parachute badge

I recently saw for sale the following parachute badge, guaranteed authentic:

- Pre-war type, 900 silver bronze coloured eagle,800 silver wreath.Engraved on wreath"Fallschirm-Inf-Btl, Otto Menges" Very scarce.

- Early type,brass wreath & pin,800 silver eagle, maker "Osang,Dresden",very scarce!

Did this type of award exist? Should I proceed with caution?

Hello,

the APB are only produeced by the Firm C.E. Juncker. Osang never made these badges.

I would very much doubt this to be an original.

It sounds all wrong....

I don't think Osang made the parabadge pre-war;
The silver content '800' and '900' would be strange... (why have 2 different silver contents on the same badge?);
Never heard of a solid silver luft parabadge, only an '800' army para bdage by Juncker;
This sounds like a typical 'jewellers copy' badge from ... dare I say it... Manions

Those are my thoughts...not only would I advise caution, I'd also advise looking elsewhere!

I asked the same question awile back about the silver Luftwaffe para badge. Proceed with caution? No, do not proceed.

I think I will leave these alone as advised, they are not cheap, and probably not worth the risk. However I am sure they come with a dealers guarantee, so it makes me wonder what a guarantee is worth!! I was keen on the first badge because it offered a researchable item, and research is my interest as I have a few Luftwaffe document sets.
