Luftwaffe Ground Assault Bade made by G.A. M.u.K.Gablonz

Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge made my G.A. M.u.K. Gablonz
I could use your opinion on this Luftwaffe Ground Assault badge. Is this the real thing or just a fake?
Any and all opinion is much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help. JME

          Hi Jurgen,

Not an original LGAB in my opinion.

By all we know of AGMuK badges, they were more of a mid to late war producer, so their items are made of zinc. Your badge here looks to be made from brass or nickel silver, which would be the first red flag for me.

Secondly, AGMuK makers very consistently crimped in their reverse hardware or used integral hinges, so that fact that yours are soldered on is another red flag IMO.

The maker mark can also be found on other fake badges, so all this seals the fate of such a badge IMO.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                Jurgen,
I've seen this same mark in the past on an APB that was very crudely made, so agree that this one is a repro/fake also.

Also, lack of similar examples is another nail in the coffin, sorry. Looked promising from the front.

It did look promising from the front. Not a bad attempt in that respect.

Looks very well made, but still a fake. IMO.
