I don't think I have seen another example where the jeweller has drilled holes into the wreath to attach the fixings for the pendant. As I assume all of these were done individually by various jewellers I guess they all chose their own technique. Most seemed to cut grooves into the outside of the wreath and then solder the attachments straight onto the back, which would be a quicker job I suspect.
Currently I only have two bomber clasps with pendants in my collection but they demonstrate the more commonly encountered attachment method.
I can only agree with the others, a fine original fighter with excellent pendant.
I too have seen a few others with the hangers drilled through the wreath, but very seldom. I have to think this was a very difficult procedure and most opted to just solder them to the reverse as Tim shows.
