Reconnaissance Clasp in Gold with Pendant

The 4th member of my Recon-family. A BSW-clasp. Swastika has been polished a little bit by the bearer. Hope You like it.

    Kind regards, Peter

      Hi Peter,

This one is questionable IMO. It does not match the typical BSW Recon clasps. However, it does appear to match the S&L clasps, so it may be a casting using an S&L as a model. The finish on yours seems more like a modern thick paint IMO, and it looks the same on the clasp as it does the pendant, which is a questionable aspect as well IMO.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

        Hi Tom !

I understand what You mean. Many of my badges and awards came from vets or their families but this one I bought about 20 years ago and really can't remember where it came from.
The pics are made with a scanner, that is the reason I cannot post better ones of the back or of the maker-mark. I will ask a friend to take some pics with a camera, but this will last a lot of time, I'm afraid.

At least I can only say, that it doesn't look like a copy when You hold it in hand, especially not like one of the 80s or early 90s...

Thanks for looking so far and kind regards,

        Peter

I didn't comment on this clasp as I did the others when you posted them. I too don't like this one, at all.
Believe it or not, there are a few older fakes that look pretty darn good, and they have had time to get the natural patina that a real badge would have.
Sorry to say, but I don't believe better photos are going to help this one. Then again, they sure as hell aren't going to hurt it either

          Regards,
          Frank

IMO not an original clasp. As far as I know the BSW produced clasps have a plain reverse.
