Hello,


I want to share a picture from my collection with you guys, the picture does show the awards rendered towards a Lw. Glider Pilot.

We can see;

* Frontflugspange für Transportflieger - Bronze
* Kuban Shield
* Krim Shield
* Iron Cross 2 nd. class
* Ante Pavlcic medal -Silver (this one is also in my collection and came with this picture)
* Erdkampf Abzeichen
* Wound Badge - Black
* Lw. Glider Pilot badge (Large eagle variant)

I do not know if this picture was wartime or early postwar.

I also first tought that the wound badge was the cloth variant but i rather believe that the photographer did put a white piece underneath of it in order to make it show better.

Have any of you guys similar pictures in the collection?

Hello Frank,


It looks like it but it is not . The glider pilot who earned these badges is known by name + he saw action in the following theatre's of war:

* Krim
* Kuban Bridgehead
* Drvar (assault against Tito)

This picture comes along with other (glider) pictures. The array of awards is also typical for a glider pilot in a way, as many who did see alot of action had as the highest bravery award the EK 2, etc...
