Came across this flak badge with attached eagle by gwl.

Is it a good one or a fake

It looks good to me and in beautiful condition also BUT I would need to see closer photos to be sure. There are very good fakes of this particular maker out there.

      Hi Eraser,

At first glance, it looks OK to me too. But like Frank says, the fakers of GWL flaks are extremely good, so better pics are needed to be sure on this one.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

            Hello there,

I like the bubbling on the back but what about these pock marks and the faint maker mark?

Kinda strange that the new photos don't show the rivets.........
I'll look this over tomorrow when I have more time.

And no cracks present on reverse ! Suspicious

Here are photos of what you should have on it

Not necessarily true. The crack is evident on MOST GWL flaks, not all. I personally own one without and believe it is an early badge. I think we've been though this before, haven't we?
The fact that there is no die flaw of the maker mark is what bothers me about this badge.

I am not too sure about this badge either , i had one of those very good fakes a while back & they are GOOD , so to the unsuspecting new collector they can be fooled .

I would have to see close up of the rivets
                      Thanks

Here's a good old thread on GWL flaks. It was a just-for-fun show and tell but it's a great reference all in one thread.
