    Dear mmiller,

A truly stunning "grouping". I can count on 1 hand the number of CEJ Pilot badges I have seen. I have never seen a CEJ P/O before. To have that many variations of the Junker P/O badge is amazing and shows a true dedication/discipline, not to mention a large wallet! I hope to be able to obtain just one of these beauties for my collection one day.

Joe, You are a real pain, sometimes.......

I can only post a few Assmanns. But I'll do my best.

Probably one of the prizes of my collection is the oblong shaped wreath, early thin Assmann & Sohn (marked) Pilot Observer. Please, for any one who doesn't know a real badge when he sees one, doen't even start the rhetoric about 'variations', 'haven't seen this one in a period picture or calalog', etc. Just log out. Thank You.......

The next two P/Os are new to my collection. They are very similar except for the placement of the makers mark; the 'A'. (PS- Thanks to Francois. Two P/O badges for $2k. Exceptional. This is just a plug for Frenchie.)

Then a second style Assmann Pilot and a second style P/O. (Thanks to Tim Calvert. He just about gave the P/O away. He never was too smart, though!!!)

I had a minty 1st Style Aluminum Assmann Pilot Badge in hand. Unfortunately, the cash wasn't in my pocket. Dammit.

        Enjoy,
        Mark

PS - Joe, are you happy now? What do you want to see next; All the Luft And Heer Para Badges? Or howabout all the CCCs.

PPS - Joe, just bustin' your balls!

As always, absolutely great badges Mark. A good chance to post my "intermediate" Assmann P/O with early eagle and later design wreath.
          Cheers, Frank

                  Frank, Joe, Yuri,

                  How-Dee.

I'm really hoping that someone has a problem with the Assmann early P/O with the 'deformed' poorly cast wreath that isn't like the one in Joe Blow's medal book. Trust me, I'm locked and loaded, and I have an itchy trigger finger, this morning.

Why should anybody have a problem with it, Mark? That "Easteregg wreath" is a known wreath found on early Assmann badges, such as para badges. I even know of a Meybauer marked observer with that wreath.

                        Hi Frank,

Exactly, No one should have a problem with it. However, as you are probably more aware of it than most people, (because as a Moderator, you have to deal with some real 'duzies') there are collectors who just aren't as educated about this stuff as they should be, before they start jumping up and down on the ice, without realizing that the water underneath is pretty cold.

Quite often, collectors post badges here, only to be scrutinized, raped, and keel-hauled (not necessarily in that order) while posting unique and controversal badges. I don't want to start a Sunday sermon though. I'm just commenting that just because someone hasn't seen a particular badge variation before, that doesn't necessarily mean that the badge is not period. It's a shame that we all can't handle dozens of Oaks with Swords, JFS 100 PABs, and Cased Presentation NKSiGs. I'm just babbling.

Joe, I think you should visit this link. hehehe.....
