Helo All!
I have only just started collecting medals this week. It has been a hobby i have wanted to start a while ago but never really got involved in it until now.
I have started my collection with a Iron Cross 2nd class and wanted to collect Luftwaffe qualification badges as well.
I saw this "apparent" W.Deumer Observer badge in the medal store but what struck me was the makers mark. The medal is in very good condition and the store is asking $900AUS for it.
I only have one photo of the reverse clearly showing the makers mark. It is missing the 'm' from deumer and the L from Ludenscheid.
From this one photo is it safe to say that it is a fake?
I have browsed many threads about various pilot and observer badges using different wreaths and eagles but I have no way of telling the difference between any of them as I am only new to this.
Anywho here is the photo of the reverse: http://www.jg11.com/jg11forum/files/pict0139.jpg
There is a lot of wear behind the pin lever and the rivets are in good condition. The pin loop was more of an open 'C' shape.
What are your thoughs on this?
