Agree wholeheartedly. Whomever 'cleaned' this relic, didn't 'have a clue' as to what they were doing. Cleaning enhances. Overly aggressive stripping and polishing only destroys. The original deep blue of the eagle was beautiful.

Well, JMME's use to be silver, so I'm happy that someone restored to its old glory ..

Hi Captain Tim,

I had the images of the uncleaned badge sent to Tom Durante.

He cofirmed the originality and pointed out that this kind f maker mark is very rare, but still ok for this maker.

Maybe Tom could confirm this when he will chime in here after his vacation.

Just back from sunny Florida, great vacation! I see I have alot of catching up to do

It indeed is a sad state to see this nice and rare badge that was cleaned of all its original blueing on the eagle and nice patina on the wreath. Unfortunately there is a good bit of this cleaning and refinishing going on

But no doubt for me an original badge, with rare JMME mark. Like Mark already shows, this is an uncommon marking but legitimate IMO. There are JMME-marked Paras as well, and just as uncommon.

Indeed rare maker mark, which you will also find on some of the ROAG. All seems to be Juncker parts with Jmme assemble. At least the case with the ROAG´s.

Hi Karsten,

This isn't the case with the "JMME" Paras, these were made with JMME parts (eagle and wreath), and assembled by JMME as well. Why the difference to the ROAGs, not really sure.

The JMME/Juncker relationship is still one of the mysteries I would love to finally figure out!
