    Hi guys,

I agree with Lubo and Frank, this is an original GWL badge. The "x" rivets are very rare to find on GWL badges, but I know of at least one that has very good provenance to it (in addition to being textbook in every other way to the typical GWL badges regarding die characteristics, finish, hinge, catch and pin and maker mark). Fakers don't get all that right IMO.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Sometimes these guys were creative when it came to tightening the rivets. On my Juncker paratrooper the wreath was slightly drilled out so the rivet could be re-peened. Whatever they used made a pattern somewhat similar to the one that started the thread.

I still like it too William, a fine (and rare) original with the silver finish.
