Assmann recon- Friday afternoon job!

Just found this stone mint and extremely rare early recon clasp made by Assmann. There has been some malfunction with the die cutting tool which has resulted in an odd cutout pattern on the one side. Also spot the obvious error in setup application!
Strangely the only silver version of this clasp I have seen also had the setup applied upside down

Very interesting clasp and undoubtedly the real deal. The finish is beautiful and the inverted hardware is an interesting aspect that I have seen on other badge types.
The flaw might have been caused by a bad blank and not the die.

I have found the same Clasp..

Very nice rare clasp Pat. Very interesting edges on this one for sure. Not the quality we usually see on Assmann product but noneless a very desirable clasp
