Badges for members of the Spanish blue squadrons in Russia.

Hello, I want to go slowly adding to my collection of badges received by pilots and ground crew of the Spanish blue squadrons in Russia.

Please could you tell me which awards were given to the Spanish in the Luftwaffe?

Thank you very much in advance.

    Greetings from Madrid.

    Julio.

    Hi Julio
I suppose you are talking about war baddes.
In the Blue Squadron only the pilots receved badges, and so, they worn the pilot badge and the Day Fighter Clasp, both in bronze and silver. I don´t know any case of a spaniard awarded with the gold one. As a curious matter, some of the spanish pilots who served in these Squadrons were worn their Pilots Badges awarded before the IIWW started, as they were
awarded by Goring at the end of the Spanish Civil War during the spring and summer of 1939.
No evidence of any War Badges awarded to the spanish ground crews in Russia.

      Hi Julio,
Enlisted personel did not get any war badges as such but they were decorated with the War Merit Cross with swords that are a good starting in your collection since are cheap in price.
Regarding to the Flight Clasp, yes, many pilots got the gold one by reaching and surpasing the 110 missions needed for this category.
I strongly recommend you the books:
-Escuadrillas Azules en Rusia, by Santiago Guillen and Carlos Caballero
-La Escuadrilla Azul, by Jorge Fdez. Coppel.
In both books are depicted many items from veterans in author's respective collections.

      Best Regards

Hi Francisco, wonderful information, I note you mention books to buy.

Ignored the data from the Spanish pilots Flight Clasp, thank you very much.

As for the ground crew, and supposed that at least the War Merit Cross with swords if he had been granted, that I have in my collection.

My collection is Spanish and German, but I have only German medals, badges and I just want relations with the Legion Condor and Spanish volunteers.

I have an IAB, I have to add a GAB and CCC for ground troops.

As for the Navy, I have to add a Minesweeper.

And finally in the air force that Greg had told me and you.

Take to put a couple of pictures of my collection.

Thank you very much for your help.

          Julio.
