    LW Seefliegerhorst Kommandantur Travemunde Badge

This came with the Seagoing Boat Personnel Trade badge on estand. Does anyone know what it is for? A headquarters badge, serialized, but who would have worn it?

My guess is it is a seaplane base security/pass badge. Wasn't Travemuende a WWII German Navy/LW anphib staging area?

Generally, badges like this were worn by civilian workers on a base, showing a right to be there. I have not seen this particular one. While these are faked to famous places like Pennemunde, with all sorts of colorful eagles, etc., this particular one looks pretty good from the photos.

P.S. Forgot to add that these workers also generally had a photo ID contained in a small metal frame, rivetted closed to prevent tampering, with a number matching the badge number. Enzian is correct - seaplanes were based there.
