My latest small addition....

Hi everyone,

Not sure if this is totally the correct place to place my latest find. Albeit small it is Luftwaffe. I really like this three piece medal bar with Luft 4 year long service emblem. I recently came across it, and for 15 Euros is was a steal. It is negative UV tested and the first two ribbons are made as one piece. I am particularly pleased with it as it represents the medal bar awards of the officer I am researching - Major Wilhelm Sell KC. Some will remember my collection of awards to him (shown in the separate foto). Since that time I have acquired a lovely Assman observer award to display with them and also a beautiful cased Zimmerman DKiG.

Any one with any knowledge or info about Wilhelm Sell or his documents etc please PM me. In any case hope you like the small medal bar.

Looks like your man was with 1.(H)/AG 10. In my experience researching reconnaissance aircrew is challenging as there is not much reference material so I wish you some lucky hits with that.

Terrific grouping Tony! Please show a photo with all your additions to the group. Just tremendous! Recon airmen are one of my favs!! Typically high risk & flew unarmed most of the time!

Thanks for the kind comments, I will put together some other pieces to Wilhelm Sell and photo them for the forum. I find it very interesting to concentrate on one man as it brings the awards to 'life' - one of my golden rules is to focus my collecting to satisfy my interest whilst being as kind as I can to my pocket !
