Nice detail and lots of finish on that one. GWL's seem to hold up very well for the most part.

I feel like I have seen this badge before; that someone posted it before. I remember that left rivet material that kind of looks like a triangle.

You're not hallucinating Chad. This badge was discussed in January. Most who commented thought this was a fake early on.

Hello all,

thanks for your comments and input.

Yes, this badge is the one which has been discussed in January here and it was a very controversal discussion.

When I bought this badge I did not realize that it was the discussed badge.

Here I made some scans to compare this one with a GWL Observer I already have in my collection. You can see the mentioned differences between these two:
Eagles colour
Eagle not plain on reverse
Maker mark "G" different
Finish not that white, more like a cream white instead of a bright white
the rough edges of the eagle´s reverse

Just to mention it: Weight is 46 gr, my older one is 45 gr.

As this is such a "controversal" badge I will return it and get the price back
