    Named, early 'Juncker' radio/gunner badge..

Just in, is this pre-war, thin wreathed Radio/gunners badge by 'Juncker'..
The obverse has 2.KG2 and the name of the original owner scratched into the wreath..
Another added bonus is that the wings are recessed into the wreath, making it quite a rare bird.. Oh, happy days..

      Hi John,

So that's where the 1st patt went!! Nearly as nice as my KG55 one!

All 1st patt Juncker WO/AG's have the cutout/recess wings.

      Regards,

      Neil

Nice bird John. I´m still looking for one of these.

Neil, is that true that ALL 1st pat. have the recessed wings. Is there no such thing as a 1st pat. without the recess?

          Hello All

Can any one help me? I've got some question.

What "recessed wings" mean? I checked my 2nd pattern Juncker too but not see something related to.

Also I found that my eagle's detail is a bit different from John's example. Such as the eye ball of the eagle, talon and the cut-out of the wings. May I knew more?

          Cheers

Technically, mines a 2nd pat, CEJ marked pieces being the 1st pat. How's yours marked, Bryan?

Hi Bryan. Click this link and scroll down and right. You can see how the wreath has been recessed to accept the wings.

                  Thanks Lorenzo, got it.

Mine also came with such "recessed" in between the wing, the oak and laurel leaves. Also I checked my references, you and Frank also discuss this issues before, at 03-01-2003 02:28 AM, thread titled "CEJ air gunner's badge".

                  Thanks a lot.

                  Cheers

Both my CEJ & C.E.Juncker have recessed wings as had another Juncker I have looked at.

Anyone disagree that they all have it??

                    Neil

recessed wings there are in all badges that has the thin flat wreath, marked CEJ or usual C.E.JUNCKER BERLIN SW

If there is the 2nd pattern wreath - called heavy type - there aren't recessed wings.

SKIP, I have 2 of these ones, maybe can we change one of mine with ........... I don't know.............maybe with your new pilot-observer Assmann alu ?
