      Hi Lee,

      The maker of these is currently uknown, but a solid lead is Hammer & Sohne, as several of these were found in marked packets.

        many thanks for your help guys also glad it was confirmed to be original as i was not sure with the ware to the eagles face

          I don't think is wear, more like lack of detail in die. These were meant to have a tombak eagle, and you were never meat to see underneath. But later on in the war, I believe the eagle was left out due to material shortages, and the die was never reworked with a new cast in eagle........ also some eagles just fell off. Still a very nice badge!
