I encircled where I believe to be the start,not sure if it really runs down

Gotcha.
However hard to tell but there is no signs on the reverse of the wing. It could be just a nick instead of a crack.

I have asked Craig for futher photos depicting the so called crack, if any. I will post further photos by Craig, if I got them.

I'd be curious if it has the "fingerprint" patern on the reverse as well. It's just something I like to see.

tension crack is normal and often seen also on Juncker P/O

After surving a torrential downpour followed by a hail storm here in San Diego, I finally got a chance to pull this item and look at it under magnification. What you see in the pictures is NOT a crack after all, but a break in the lacqueur that has tarnished to black. So it definintely looks like a crack in photos, but this is not the case in close-up. I like to use my 10 power illuminated microscope for tasks like this, and it always does a GREAT job.

Thats good news for any potential buyer....I initially thought the "spot" would be positioned in the polished area of the wing
