    Lufft Junker Observers Badges

    Hello,

I wonder if you would mind gracing this thread with your opinions on these 2 Observer badges? First I would appreciate anyone's opinion as to the authenticity (both!) I am also interested in how many patterns of this badge did Junkers make as these look very different to me, if indeed they are both correct. Lastly if they are OK, what price would you expect to pay for these items?

You have to bare in mind these photos are obviously taken from different angles and so proportions and alignments can not be directly compared.

    All help is appreciated.

    Kind Rgds,

    Craig.

          Craig,

You should have looked at my post first!

Bird on right: 2nd type Junker obs with 3rd type wreath, case is ok.
          £550 max in that condition.

Both badge and case on the left are repros. Both badge and case on the right are good.

                Hi Neil,

You posted your thread 4 minutes before I had finished uploading my pictures, but still it's healthy to debate these items.

I am relatively new to Lufftwafe badges, but I am growing to like them more than EK's. Can you recommend any Lufftwafe Badge bibles?

                Thanks again,

                Craig.

Craig, there isn't one, THIS IS IT!!!

By trawling through these threads you can see every variation & maker.
For an example look at my thread on Juncker Obs. Search on Juncker & Neil Howes.

                  Cheers,

                  Neil

                    Hi Neil,

I understand that there isn't simply one source, but I am looking for a good book to use as a starting reference. Perhaps Russell Huff's Wings of World War II would be an interesting read and reference point?

In my humble opinion, this forum is fantastic, so long as you have the basics to build on, I am learning, but because `as a forum` we don't like to divulge too much information, so that manufacturers of repros can simply copy the points mentioned, that the information is a little bitty sometimes. There is almost too much information here to trawl through to find the information you need, plus there are people like me who want to join in, but who aren't as qualified with their opinions. With exclusion to the moderators, it's difficult to weight people's knowledge and experience...

                    Rgds,

                    Craig.
