    2x fighter clasps bronze

    Hi,

what are you thoughts about those 2 clasps, which I am interested in?

They look convincing but need some of your expertise.

    Thanks.

    Hi Martin,

I think both look fine, from what I can see. Straight on shots of the obverse are much more helpful to see the details, but I like what I see. For me, there is no doubt these are original clasps, but not sure if they were always "nightfighters".

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

That is always the problem with nightfighters...one never knows if the black finish is post war. The clasps appear original enough but I would not over pay too much for the nightfighter finish unless you can be convinced it is period.

      Nice looking pieces though

Same as with the Pilot Observers.
But this one looks promising to me.

I like both but could you post some better pictures of the center so we could see the black color better?

                          Martin

I cannot comment on either of the Spange however, I am suprised that no one else has mentioned the very nice award citation. signed by (then) Major Wolfgang Thimmig as Geschwader Kommodore of NJG4.

Thimmig was credited with 24 'nacht abschuss' and was awarded the DKiG on 07-December-1943, and would go on to be Geschwader Kommodore of NJG2 ending the war with the rank of Oberstleutnant.

Avery nice citation with a very nice signature.

                          Regards Richard.
Always looking for Luftwaffe Kampfflieger related document groups. In particular anything to Kampfgeschwader 2.
