    Osang Pilot or PO

I have searched for threads on Osang pilot badges and could not locate any to compare this one with. Anyone have pics of one? Please express your opinions, good or bad about this badge. Thanks in advance for your input.

If I'm not mistaken, Mike Tucker started a thread about this very same badge. The badge itself is of unknown maker but definitely genuine, and can also be found in a pilot observer variant. BUT, these have all been unmarked. When one surfaced with the GH Osang maker mark, not too many people were convinced that it was period to the badge. Reason being, Osang's pilot badges looked nothing like this style.

Mike T's thread was, in fact, about a similar badge with a 'Juncker' mark.. And this is the problem.. There have been a few badges, mostly cast copies, turning up with various maker marks.. JMME, Juncker, Osang, Assmann, etc.. All, IMHO, bogus, Well, certainly 'Osang' as they are not a known maker of pilots badges..

I would have to say that this badge is also a copy.. Not too bad from the front view, could easily be mistaken for a worn piece.. But the hinge, catch are incorrect for known, original pieces..

Here are a couple of examples in both Tombak and zinc, for comparison..

I wasnt even aware that GH Osang was even a maker of pilot badges, and now we have a verifiable example to compare to?

What exactly does an Osang pilot badge look like?

                    Mark,

I "misspoke". I meant to simply say the badge in question was NOT attributable to any manufacturer and that any maker marks are suspect as being postwar added.

                      Hello Gentlemen,

The unmarked Pilot badge .............has been post war marked, with about evry maker, unfortunate, that original pieces are ruined IMHO just to try to increase their value.

Hmmmmm..........here is a thought, what if the unmarked Pilot badges componets or whole badges were sold to other makers that applied thier mark

Is this possible ? other makers shared pieces as well as whole badges and then applied their mark.

Never mind, just kidding around ith theory

                      Best,
                      JD
