              Gotta be talking about the one on Detlev's update today. Wish I could say it was mine, but I can't.

              Willing to bet it was that dirty Englishman with the fast computer.

              A great looking badge IMO.

                I'm with you, Tim.. Always a marked lack of comments when my fellow countryman has an ace up his sleeve..

                "They seek him here, they seek him there, they seek him every where. is he in heaven".... Of course he is, he got the badge..

                  Price was reasonable though..

                  OK, here it is.., weenie in hand.., there we go..

                    It looks like a Juncker 1st pattern badge, except that there are things I don't see on the scans (maybe just the scans):

                    No mark (almost ALWAYS seen on Juncker Luft badges);
                    No sign of silver-plating typically seen on Junckers. I speak here mostly of the eagle. Looks like the dark finish was applied directly to the tombak eagle without the silver plating;
                    Rivets appear slightly rounded rather that the typical "flattened" type;
                    File marks? Can't see the strong marks that are usually seen on Juncker badges...maybe there;
                    No sign of soldered hinge or catch.

                    A custom-made screw-back directly from Juncker made from unfinished stock?
                    Or.....

                      Yep, saw that and it was still for sale at 14:20. I thought about it, but I really do not like these so called "factory screwbacks". I agree, damm ugly

                        Yes , I think so , Lorenzo..

                        I agree , it's maybe a rare item , not a pretty item..

                        Although original , I think ,I don't like these either..., just don't like them..

                        I never understood why to put a hole in your jacket.., while 2 loops would do..

                        Maybe it's more class.., but not for me .

                        Jos.

                          Hi Lorenzo,

                          There are for example early - same period of this pilot - observer badges from Juncker not marked.
                          the piece is very worn and from I can see , traces of "dark silver colour " in eagle there are. Silver in wreath is gone away, but most of very worn pieces silver gone away.

                          rivets are exactly as I immagine they must to be and the right one is a bit more bigger then the other, sign that I found in many Juncker pilots.

                          Alloy of this badge is without doubt the same used from Juncker in the early pieces, never I found a fake with this particular typical alloy.

                          Hinge and catch there aren't, why they must to be in ? wreath is clear, made without hinge and catch from the firm from the beginnen.

                            And how do you suppose this would hang on a jacket? Where's the weight?

                              If you fix the screw hard enough, there is no chance this baby will turn.
                              Cheers, Frank
