Hi Ludwig,
Although the base metal and details of this clasp don't look too bad, I think there are a lot of questions about this one.
Firstly the maker mark is not the correct, Osang maker mark as Sebastian has correctly pointed out. I completely agree with him. I also don't like the reverse hardware (hinge and catch) and the finish looks cheap and basic. I also don't like the cutouts, very ameuturish compared to typical Osang cutouts, which are always nice and precise and neatly made. We know very well what late war, Osang fighter clasps look like and there are significant differences to this clasp, so it is one I wouldn't want to add to the collection.
TomIf it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a littleNew Book - The German Close Combat Clasp of World War II

What is your explanation on why Osang used a different font for their maker mark, and why this maker mark is ONLY found on QUESTIONABLE badges and outright fakes?
We know that Osang used their "textbook" maker mark until the end of the war because we have many late war, zink badges with this correct maker mark. Also their reverse hardware was very consistent until the end of the war. So where do these "round O" marked clasps fit in to the timeline? Not only are these clasps different with the maker mark, but the hinge, catch, rivet and cutouts are also different. So this isn't just a simple matter of using a different style of maker stamp. EVERYTHING is different on these clasp, so how can you explain it.
