Hi guys,
Wow, this one looks pretty damn good to me, are we SURE this is a fake??!!
Jos, the one you show in post #12 as evidence of the same fake.....is actually the EXACT same badge. Not similar badges, but physically is the same exact badge, they are one and the same. I have also seen this 1 badge on Staegemeir's site, but I am not convinced its a fake just yet. We know that Staegemeir does have original badges on his site from time to time, and its these badges that he usually dismantles to make his well made fakes. So its very possible this is an original GWL badge, I have yet to see any evidence that its a fake so far.
I am not saying its original, but I have had this is my "questionable" folder for quite some time and have yet to find another one like it.....

Hallo,
my question: where did Sebastian bought the piece?
This is absolut the same badge like on his page!!
If yes so then would be sold both are on his side now!!
Staegmeir has also a another one on his site (its on hold / reserviert) and this one was selling bei militaria antiques stockholm this year!!
Here are the pictures from this year!
The most striking is the catch and the backsite if you compare!!
I can not upload the pictures from Staegmeir site!! Maybe a another user can upload the pictures from Staegmeir's site!!
I am also not sure that this observers are fakes.....i belive that both GWL observers on his side good one's!!
or what is your opinion?

They are NOT identical twins! They are two different pictures of the EXACT SAME BADGE! See my compare below, all these little dings in the finish prove that this is one and the same badge.

Hi guys,
The badge that Thomas (Silver) just showed is another badge that was original sold on Staegmeir's site. I fully agree with him that the badge is also an original, GWL observer. In my opinion, all the observers shown in this thread are ORIGINALS!! Its suprising that Staegemeir sold 2 original GWL Observers, but I think that is the case and it has been known to happen (although VERY infrequently, 80% of the badges on his site are fakes!).
I continue to keep both these Observers in my "questionable" files, but in my opinion they are originals.

Hi Tom-
I see what you are saying now, indeed the same exact piece we are talking about here.
Thanks,
John
