I have never handled luftwaffe badges, but from what I have read and seen, this one does not look good to me. Mainly the hing at the back and the position of the eagle. Am I right or is this some variant?

You are correct, the badge is a repro/fake. The wreath looks like it was cast from a GWL badge. Run away!
