Please help confirm reproductions

Hello all,

A guy doesn't believe me that the Luftwaffe badges are fakes. Please help me tear them apart as poor quality reproductions not even close to anything original. Honestly, the Luft tropical breast eagle is laughable.

All the badges are bad. Not one of them resemble anything close to an original (albiet that they have wreaths and eagles). If you need examples of why they are bad, there are too many points to list. Hopefully the person your trying to convince will see the comments here and realize that you are correct about them.

If the guy wants to believe in those pieces, then it's his loss. 15 minutes on this forum looking at originals should give him all the evidence he needs.

Anyhow, I guess he's mad at me for the fact he got taken at an estate sale and is now left with nothing more than recyclables.

I guess somebody should post a photo of an original example of one of these, or not, it isn't going to change anything.

Well, on the other side of the situation, he has too much money on his hands. If you want to point out specifics, the observer badge has the wrong type of rivets for that maker (austrian company so it has some signature details attached to them)And the maker mark is sloppy with too little detail in the eagle
The eagles head on the pilot badge from what I can see in the photo was horribly done, not enough detail and too rounded. The pilots badge is sort of a cult item( for lack of a better term) Even late war examples show that they never cut corners on the detail they were given.
As for the breast eagle, looks like a movie or stage piece, meant for scenes where the uniform is not seen closely.

That is what I know from my experience (which is not a whole lot at this point, but I am getting there)
