    Luftwaffe Pilot's badge opinions.

I don't like the looks of this OHG aluminium eagle badge but it came from a pretty trusted source (long story not worth typing!). Does anyone have any factual info on it? Here are links to pics...

    Thanks guys!

    Hi Andrew,

Bogus not just because of the makerĀ“s mark. The whole badge is of a "fantasy" design and it has what we call the FUGLY head.

Check out the FUGLY eagle on that bogus IMME and you know what I am talking about. A fantasy design that comes with a dozen maker marks.

"Fugly", a good word for this stuff...better word for the guys that make them. Any idea when and who made this one?

"Fugly" and a "high wedgie"...this is getting too technical for me!
Seriously thanks guys. Didn't want to put it in the dumpster and find out later I had the rare prototype crotchless eagle variant!

My highly technical artwork will translate the jargin, for you...

Wedgie = the cutout, between the legs, is far too high (said in a very high voice)

Fugly = As has already been discribed..

Dipped Wreath = As can be seen, the Wreath has a pronounced "dip".. Not to be mistaken for certain 'Assmann' patterns which although slightly dipped, are not to this degree..

You have GOT to be kidding me. That looks like a cartoon character.

I found out a few years ago that a Assmann marked PO I got in 1986 was one of these fugly's. I do remember getting it by trading back to the guy a lot of SS cloth insignia I had gotten from him that I had grown suspect of. One repro for another, dooohh
