Duh, don't mind me, I just assumed that the first line was Luftwaffe!

...and I can't even say I was drinking! The shame! No more sober posting for me!

IMO the case is 100% perfect, I have only seen five of these in 25 years, just because the badge is not in the usual LATER FLOCK style case does not make it BAD, the glue and everything is 100% and it is the first style case for the GWL P/O also if you look at the case in the hand it is FORM FITTED for the GWL P/O badge and made ONLY to accomadate the style of pin that the GWL badge has which requires a lot of work to do

These style cases have been on this Forum before and nobody has made any comments on the case, there is also this same style of case for the GWL Observer's badge, by that I mean an early one with VELVET not the usual flocking type

Yes, I also would say is an original (not so common) and hardy to find case.

        Great catch Frank !

Looking at the case that Tom posted, you'll notice that the brass catch is discolored with 70 years of age. On the case in question, it looks mint. The catches on these were not laquered and uder the best storage conditions, will show some age. Fakers have learned that dilute 3M weather strip adhesive dries and looks almost identical to the old mucilage used on original cases. With that in mind, I can only say that this case wouldn't be for me.

I always knew of these type of cases as "Brain pattern" as it kind looks like the outside of your brain.

Is nobody bothered by the lump of grey cardboard that the inlet is made of?

I had one of those a time ago, but sold it

IMO a good, (very) early and RARE case.....

              Look at this thread.

                Hi Guys,

Totally forgot about this thread. Martin, your case is absolutely beautiful, but I'm still no fan of the first one.

                What about this one?

Giel, do you have pictures from the inside and base?

                    martin

PS. Frank, what do you think yourself of the P/O case? You should have an opinion.

                      Hi Martin,

There you go. The base doesn't come out and I don't plan doing it either. It's a 100% match to Frank his box.

thats difficult for me without having it in hands and seeing the interior base...

I have a good feeling about Frank's case.

                        How is the smell?

                              It's smells neutral.

I'm 99% that this is a copy based on the brain pattern box you have posted in your previous post Martin. Frank's box is exactly the same as the one I posted.
                              Kind regards,
