I'm don't think that Brehmer made a riveted LGAB from what I remember, so would think that it would all have to be one piece. But still, I'm not sure.

Could that be a rivet under the catch? Or what is that?

I would like to see what Mr. Durtrane thinks on this one.

Does anyone have an original LGAB Brehmer with a rivet? Or know if they existed?

          No more opinions?
          Is this badge original?

I would say that this badge, all things in account is still somewhat questionable, since I don't think that Brehmer made a riveted badge. While the hinge looks correct, the catch is not.

I would not want this badge in my collection with the given issues.

OR.... could it be a replaced eagle with a rivet holding it on?

Or I am I being too outlandish....

No, I personally do not own one, nor have I ever seen one either. If it definately is a rivit, I would have to say that it must be some sort of addition/repair. For the record, I would not have this badge either Carlo.

This badge is very interesting, and although the catch is different from the norm, and it has a riveted eagle, I personally wouldn't write it of as fake.... yet. The rest of the badge looks good, and what we are seeing could possibly be an unknown variant? Unfortunately more evidence is going to have to be made, IMO, for this badge to be accepted as an original. Until then I would have to agree with Zack and Eric in not wanting to own this badge.

                  Hi guys,

Sorry for the very late reply on this one. I must have missed it on the first go around for some reason, but then Carlo emailed me about it.

Guys, this is NOT a Brehmer, but rather an FLL and perfectly fine and original in my opinion. Weber's book is not complete and doesn't show all the variants possible, but he does show an FLL on page 78-79. The badge carlo shows has late war hardware, with sheetmetal hinge and flatwire catch and can be found on other late war FLL badges like their PABs and Para badges, and is perfectly fine.

I also like the finish on it, very typical of FLL badges with a somewhat powdered look to it and a slight overspray on the clouds. Here are two more FLL originals showing the exact same thing. All these badges in this thread are fine.
