fyi the images below. Can anyone help with the type of wreath (2nd/3rd) that this Assman? has and the estimated date of manufacture? The badge is not in my hands so I don't have better photos.

Hi Sly,

Pics aren't the best and really bright, which washes out the detail. However, from what I can see it looks like an original badge that has been modified with a screw post. I doubt this was done at the factory, and closeup shots of the reverse would probably show where the original hinge and catch were removed.

All I have is these overexposed, washed out photos. Here are a couple more. The screwback was certainly applied outside the factory, you can clearly see where the pin was. Still, nice badge. Can you estimate the year it was manufactured?

Hi Sly i really like that one, The screw back is certainly added after it left the factory it came from and its always going to leave questions as to when it was added but i wouldnt mind that at all, is the rear of the screw back with it Sly?

Yup, here are some pics. You can never be 100% sure, though I'm pretty confident the screwback is a wartime job. Cheers

Looking at it with my sunglasses on it looks like a very nice original!

A darker background color, other than white, would produce a decent scan.

Exactmente! God knows what kind of tripped out camera took these pics but it has a remarkable ability to blind everyone in sight. I feel like I've been staring at the sun for 5mins.

Looking at it with my sunglasses on it looks like a very nice original!
