Just signed up to the forum to acquire these, I hope that they don't mind...

In the interest of open debate and the betterment of the hobby, of course..

I will, of course, remove these pix if there are any objections..

        For my part...

              Jay,

              Our own covert operative

This is a first for me and i am with Ivan

I really do not like the hardware as well as the mm and the swaz and eagle.

Also was unaware of seeing an RK marked LW Qualification piece.

              Best,
              JD

                One thing is quite remarkable:

Try to ignore the hinge/pin/catch and the maker´s mark for a second.

-this items has an eagle and wreath design very different from what we know from the known maker´s of these awards.

-however it shares the exact same eagle and wreath design that can only be found on unmarked badges, sometimes these are using THREE rivets to hold the eagle.

-so far, these very specific badges I am talking about were strange, but looked very convincing and I still think they are original. I post some examples below.

This should make us at least remember this badge in case more turns up even if it looks very awkward at the moment.

First badge with same design (focus on head, claws and leaves) from Trevor Elliot sold on the e-stand. (One that I wanted and did not get):

Next badge of that very same design, pic acquired from Jos, but it looks like an older Detlev Niemann offering:

Last one in my files of that very same design, pic acquired from Francois Saez, he scanned it from some magazine.

Also at least interesting and for the record: I just checked and none of the numerous fakes (with or without lightning bolts) I have on file ever used that design (so far and to the best of my knowledge).
                          Cheers, Frank

                            Very Interesting

Like Joe, this is a new one on me, but if comparing hinge, pin and catches, I must say that these appear to be very similar to known R.K. ground combat badges by this maker IMO. Rivets--?

I'm with Frank..the design is there..
Never saw a badge like this one ,but I don't dislike the eagle..I like the raised mm ...and as Tim pointed out , RK used this hinge and catch...

I don't know what to think.... I'm tempting to say I like it... ,but I'm cautious the same moment..
I don't see it as a obvious fake at the moment..

                              Jos.
