Hinge construction exactly the same! Some differences to hook but would expect some evolution but design in keeping with Assmann product.

So what now? Are thies big A eagles fakes or 100% original?

                  100% original IMO.

                    Hi Steiner

So what now indeed? Some peoples like these "big A" in aluminum and others (including me) dont . This debate has been going on for a while now as you can see so you'll just have to go with what you feel comfortable with...If you like the "the big A" alu eagle there is yet another different variation with a rear cut out leg and a totally different design that some reputable dealers will be more than happy to sell you for your collection...

IMO, since the "A DRGM" marked design was produced in aluminum, in cupal and in zink it takes a rather big leap of faith to beleive Assmann produced a different aluminum design/variant in parralel... For me, the design per say (die) of the Aluminum "big A" eagle is original and can be found in tombac (not common) and in aluminum with different hardware (crimped hinge instead of built in hinge like the big A) which exists in 2 variations (one with a large crimped hinge and one with a smaller crimped hinge) as per the attached pictures but these birds are not marked or related to Assmann as far as I am concerned

                    Have fun

                    JC
