    Pilot Officer Badge

Very nice badge I have one very similar to it except the details in the wings on mine are black thread instead of the silver that you have.

I sent a picture of mine years ago to the Luftwaffe Museum in Germany regarding the gold bullion of the eagle and if it is/was a Pilot Observers Badge. They stated that it was a Pilots Badge. The Gold Bullion being used to represent the blackened eagle on a pilots badge. You don't come across these very often, I have had mine for 30 years! Nice find

These badges look to have Paki origins if you ask me

          Agreed, both bad!

Wow, somebody's been digging in the past!

            Lubo,

Can you provide one that is acceptable??? Were the "Paki's" making these in the 70's? That when I picked mine up. The Luftwaffe Museum liked it.

So, lets see a real one to compare with

Kondor, the Paki fakes according to the literature out there did start to show exactly in the 70s!
As a matter of fact I like yours more than the first one!
In my collection I lack this one, until one day I find a piece with unquestionable provenance OR one with far superior detail compared to yours (the fact that the eagle has the Swazi with only one talon pisses me off :-)!
              With regards!

I can only agree, the first 2 shown are fakes IMO.

                  Gene, nice originals IMO.

This is a really difficult area but Gene's 'feel' right and the two posted first leave a doubt.

Gene - could you post the revere sides for reference please.

I wholeheartedly agree with this assessment. The first two are poor quality fakes, Gene's examples show very nice detailing.
