Not too surprising, really.
The Flak Badge went to crews who scored a certain number of points, as we all know.............
Women were in the crews later in the war..........................
So..........................
QED.
There was nothing in the regulations that said that a war badge couldn't be awarded to a female.

I will post closeups tomorrow - it is a Luftwaffe flak. I doubt from these guys as the other photos in the group show no badges or loops on their uniforms.
As for women, the war badges were fir combatants. Women were not. Except in the Flak. And the regs clearly allowed them to be awarded the badge. By 45 you only needed to PARTICIPATE in 5 air defenses. I am sure most met that.

Korrekt!
But women were also 'combatants' insofar as they served as front-line medical staff, transport pilots, etc. etc., winning the EK, Wound Badge, etc. etc.
Nurses were technically non-coms............. but they saw more real front-line blood-and-guts action than the Flak dollies, IMHO !!
