B&N/L Eagles

Did B&N/L have two different eagles for their Air Gunner and Wireless Badges, or is this just one bad bird.

good question..I have wondered this also.

There seems to be the type normal seen, and then that "other" one...

Yes, they had two different types of eagles, but I don't think that is a good one. Attached are pictures of
badges I have observed. The 1st badge is the typical radio badge in Tombak. The 3rd badge is the Gunner
badge in zinc (scroll right). Notice the different eagles....but both have the same wreath.

The badge in the middle is tombak and uses the 2nd pattern eagle with a completely different wreath.
However, I think it is good becauses it uses the tombak style hinge and has the large domed rivets..
..but I'm not postive.

Now the badge you show is in tombak and shows a third type of wreath,,,but neither the hinge or
rivets look like BNL to me. Also the details and quality do not look good.

That middle badge has an Assmann wreath (and rivets):

And funny enough, the ASSMANN Air Gunner also uses that B&NL "second type" eagle.
