    Zinc Paratrooper badge

    I have located this zinc and worn Paratrooper badge. initially it is not appealing but look at it closely and I believe it to be good. opinions?

      a well used badge but the positives outweigh the negatives as far as authenticity in my opinion.

        In my opinion it is a reproduction. The eagle is an S&L design, but very soft in details. The wreath is a Assmann and doesn't look too bad, but again is probably a cast copy. The reverse setup is what condemns this badge for me. Cheap sheetmetal hinge, crappy rivets and catch that are unlike anything used on original wartime paras in my opinion.

          What throws me is that rut in the back of the badge, and also the overall look of the pin, the way the catch goes directly into the zinc in a question-mark style...most curious. I would tend to agree with Tom that this badge is suspect,

            I agree with Tom and John, this badge looks like a repro to me. Hold out for something better.
