This came in from my ads, many years ago. I placed it in the questionable box because the reverse numbers look poor.

I wonder if there were different fonts for the reverse marking, or if this is just an old fake. It still has some zincpest, on the front. I removed what I could from the reverse, which was much heavier in the numbers and around the hinge and catchplate.

It could just be a bad strike on the reverse numbers. Yours appears to be convex which is a good sign.

Here is one which I bought from Steve Wolfe several years ago for comparison.
