De-nazified Fallschirmjager badge, is it original?

I got this off of ebay about 7 years ago. What do you all think? I've had mixed reviews on it at the shows.

Looks like an original Meybauer. Obviously de-nazified, like you say, and also with a replaced catch. I would spray it down with WD-40 or an even thicker penetrating oil, then let it soak in for a day or so. It would really help those areas of white zinc corrosion and it will not hurt the badge. It can only help.

    Best regards,

AGREED, an original Maybauer, no problems at all with that one except the denazified bird and repaired catch.

It is perfectly textbook in all other ways except for the repairs/modifications, so I would really be interested in hearing what the guys at these other shows had a problem with.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Thank you Tom and Tom! I'm glad to hear that since some of the others I've posted that I thought were real turned out to be fakes. I'll definitely try the WD40 on it. If I recall correctly the problem they (at the shows) had with it was the how the wreath and the eagle were attached but these guys aren't experts. Thanks again guys.
