    Jos,

The before and after shots are great. The 'after' is very very improved. Can you use some 400 grit sandpaper and burnish the highlights? Make the oak and laurel leaf veins, really jump out. Like a GWL. The hero has one just like it for sale.

For the eagle - I'd suggest to use angle grinder with proper disc. The high points of the wings will look great after decent treatment of rotating at 10000 rpm disc. If you have a workshop : use the vice and big grinder - it's more efficient - I had already tried for all of mines.
      Good luck !

With all your fine advice I now have a pretty desirable badge..
Heavy tools are working fine as long as you know what you're doing..
I also managed to change it into a early type ..

        Thanks !

Think Tim might be jealous if he notice this face-lift ..
Your badge could look like this, Tim, it's just a small step...

        Jos.

Too much effort; I would just pee on it and let the acid do the work for you!

            Jos,

Congratulations! You are almost there. Perhaps 1 or 2 taps with a 10kg mallet. You know, just to give it a little of that 'been there, done that' look.

You have replicated the tops of the wings to look so natural, with just a small bit of normal wear. I can see the Alte Silber peeking through.

What a friggin craftman. Will you be putting this up on the estand, or should I contact you via PM?

PS - Is the refurbished swaz a tad irregular? Perhaps it is the digital image.....
