German dealers tend to start their goblets around the 3000 euro mark
A english dealer has one for a stuka pilot for 5000 pounds
5000 dollars seems to be the starting price on USA web sites..
When i look at a Goblet i want to know the guys career before i purchase
Cleaned or uncleaned is personal choice.I myself will never clean mine

I recently saw a (Alpaka) Goblet to an airgunner for 2.600 EUR....But that was under the marketvalue IMO...
Value is indeed for an Alpaka around 3.000 EUR or more depending on unit, recipient, rank etc. You hardly see them under 3.000 EUR.
This specific one you posted, looks really great....

I've been watching the "Goblet market" since the early 1980s and I think $4500 for an Alpaka goblet (that has been cleaned probably by someone with less than professional training) to an Air Gunner who did not win any major awards (he does not appear in the LW DKiG list [there is an Erwin, but no Erich]) is a bit unrealistic. If it had the award document with it, maybe $4500 - $5000 USD, but without it no way.
Cleaning anything is a personal preference of course, but when it is done incorrectly and affects the appearance there are many "goblet purists" out there that will turn away and of course this may have an impact potentially on one's ability to sell in the future to upgrade or liquidate. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice goblet, but IMO it's not a $4500 goblet.
This is purely my opinion and as such, I know many will disagree with it.
Congrats in any case, as I said still a nice piece!

I love the look of these honor goblets. I especially like the eagles on them. I hope to have one too one day. I probably will not be able to afford a pilot or a super distinguished persons goblet. I still believe that these awards, regardless of who earned them is still a desirable award.
