      Hi James,

Yep, I saw that too and agree with you that it is a cupal eagle. Its on a Juncker wreath. I sent an email to Detlev to foward me the new owner's email as I would like to feature it in the upcoming Para badge book.

These cupal eagles follow the S&L design, who used them most consistenly on their Para bages. However, these same cupal eagles can be found on most other makers wreaths (Osang, Assmann, B&NL, Juncker, etc.). It seems that either S&L sold eagles to all these makers, or a smart cupal salesman made a bunch of cupal eagles and sold them to all the makers!

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

        Hi

That badge was in my collection and I consigned it to Detlev with a few other items.

The wreath is zinc Juncker pattern, rivits are also more like Juncker and are brass. Eagle is S&L Cupal but has some retouching. Pin is replaced but hinge and catch are typical S&L. An odd badge but a nice one!

Tom I have some photos I can email to you if you like

        Cheers

Cupal eagle/zinc wreath pairing is not unusual, I think. I had a GWL this way in my collection years ago.

            Hi Ramjet,

Do you have a pic of your badge? I have only seen tombak eagles on zink wreaths for GWL.

            Thanks

IF whoever purchased this badge is on the forum, please send me a PM as I would like to include this badge in the upcoming Para badge book. Detlev promised me some closeups of the badge before he mailed it to the buyer, but never got around to doing them and the badge is already mailed

So if the new owner sees this and would like their badge featured in the book, please contact me.

                Thanks guys.
